Where am I?

Last September (2015), my wife found some really cheap tickets for our trip to Asia. She's great at being frugal. The thing is, the trip is for June 2016. So, she's also good at planning also.  Of course, there are risks with planning a trip so early. But I see no difference with investing. You need to know what you want, plan ahead and buy as low as you can, and understand the risks.

Well, it's June now, and time for the trip. After an exhausting 24 hours of travel.....

Do you know where we are?

It's nice to see a different world.

  2. This is Vietnam. From the way the motorists dress, you're in Ha Noi.

The fruits in the south is much better. Have fun. Go visit Ha Long bay and the big Cave in Phong Nha, Quang Binh.

  4. Enjoy the trip to Vietnam. Eventually my wife and I will make our way over to Asia but so far that hasn't happened. All the best.

  5. Div Hustler, it's definitely an interesting country! When we talk about 1% / 99% here in the US, it is more like 0.1% / 99.9%. While we are sticking with the touristy areas, this ratio is quite apparent when you stray off the beaten path. Still, I see huge opportunities for the right entrepreneurs to make it successful, but the odds are definitely against them. The people are generally friendly and talkative. Overall, very interesting....

    2. Well that's cool. People often use South East Asia as an example where you can live cheaply off dividends. Would you ever consider that?

    3. Tristan,
Good question. Everything is possible so it's good to experience now than later.
